About the Strategy & Analytics Team Lead Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategy & Analytics Team Lead/Manager to join and build our dynamic team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in driving data-driven decision-making and strategic initiatives across the organisation, supporting some of our most visible and strategic growth projects.

What you’ll do…

This role will spend about 50% of their time managing, expanding & coaching our analyst team in Bangkok and 50% of their time delivering analytics projects, in partnership with their team & other key stakeholders. We are therefore looking for someone hands on, who enjoys a blend of people leadership and project delivery 

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 2-8 analysts, overseeing their project work, professional growth, performance, and development. Lead hiring, onboarding, and training efforts to expand the team. Create a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusiveness in our BKK analytics hub. Embed SiteMinder ways of working, including taking initiative, thought leadership, and customer focus in the team. 

• Strategic Project Support: Lead analytics efforts for strategic growth projects, leveraging data to turbocharge operations through innovative solutions and cross-functional collaboration.

• Data Product Development: Create beautiful data products, such as dashboards, to enhance visibility and understanding of customer health across different lifecycle phases, facilitating intervention for frontline teams.

• Automated Workflow Systems: Develop data-driven systems to support automated workflows, focusing customer success interventions where they are most effective, and creating strategic, data-driven customer actions.

• Personalised Customer Communication: Build data layers to support personalised, targeted customer communication for scalable customer lifecycle journeys.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with diverse stakeholders, including (for example) participating in ideation processes for customer success plays, suggesting and running experiments, and measuring the impact of initiatives.

• Insight Generation: Use your data and analytics expertise to understand trends in business and customer performance, supporting leadership in key meetings and creating forecasting models for future business outcomes.

• Data Champion: Act as a champion for data-driven decision-making, contributing to the Strategy & Analytics community, and running training sessions to promote analytics across the organisation.

• Project Ownership: Own and maintain projects, data models, and dashboards, documenting and sharing work using tools like Confluence and Google Drive in a fast-paced environment.

What you have…

• Experience: Extensive experience in a similar analytical role, such as Consultant, Data Analyst, or Data Scientist, preferably in the software industry or B2B environment. Experience with Online Travel Agents like Airbnb, Agoda, or Booking.com is highly valued.

• Soft Skills: Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders. Willingness to work with remote stakeholders in our international offices (mostly AU).

• Leadership skills: Experience hiring, training and mentoring more junior analysts (including supporting them on technical questions).

• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in SQL (Snowflake or Databricks preferred), Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualisation tools like Tableau or Looker. Experience with Salesforce, Marketo, Intercom, or similar platforms is advantageous. Basic knowledge of LLMs and willingness to learn the various ways in which AI can turbocharge a team of data activators. We want you to lead the charge on technical learning & mentor your team in BKK.

• Attributes: Self-starter with high energy, a team player with a humble attitude, and a keen eye for detail. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.

• Bonus Skills: Experience with ETL or Reverse ETL tools (Census, Hightouch), advanced analytical tools like R or Python, and basics in machine learning are a plus.

• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the hotel tech industry or hospitality sector is advantageous but not essential.

• Work Arrangement: Willingness to work from our office in Bangkok at least two days a week. Willingness to travel occasionally to our HQ in Sydney, Australia, to build key stakeholder relationships and understand SiteMinder ways of working. 

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree is a plus.
