Description

The Data Analyst, Senior will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This role involves managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets, with an emphasis on ensuring data integrity and accuracy. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in data visualization, statistical analysis, and experience with tools such as R, Python, SPSS, and Excel. Additionally, the role requires proficiency in data extraction, cleaning, and applying basic statistical methodologies.    This is a remote job to work out of the Washington, DC metro area.


 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform advanced data analysis and statistical modeling using R, Python, SPSS, and Excel, among other software tools.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance data visualizations to present insights to stakeholders.
  • Create detailed reports and dashboards that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Extract, clean, and prepare large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Implement and maintain data pipelines to streamline data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Apply basic to intermediate statistical techniques to analyze data trends, identify patterns, and test hypotheses.
  • Interpret and communicate statistical results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
  • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clear understanding and alignment on data-driven decisions.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in data analytics, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data processes, tools, and methodologies, ensuring the organization leverages data effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis, including data extraction, cleaning, and statistical analysis.
  • Previous experience supporting federal government clients preferred, but not required. 
  • Proven experience in data visualization using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages R and Python, with demonstrated experience in statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Strong experience with SPSS and Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization techniques and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data in a clear and compelling way.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and their application in business contexts.
  • Knowledge of best practices for web and digital accessibility, including familiarity with Section 508 requirements and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), is helpful.
