The IT Asset Management crew, are the governing centre of excellence for our Group hardware and software assets. Responsible for driving the management of key controls, processes, and compliance activities, the team works closely with each Platform crew to support effective management and adhere to our commitment of an always-available bank. This environment is large and complex presenting a number of exciting challenges to be involved in.

The crew deliver technology solutions that provide market leading value, and support the asset lifecycle, that equip our colleagues in their efforts to enhance the financial wellbeing of customers, businesses and communities.

Your Role

Play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our IT assets, contributing to the bank's overall success.  As a Data Engineer, you will partner closely with the IT Asset Manager and support the delivery of data-led, sustainable processes for IT asset lifecycle management, enabling proactive remediation of asset end of support issues, optimising asset usability and cost efficiency. To achieve this, you may expect to;

• Understand and take ownership of the complex CMDB service-to-host relationship, to ensure the smooth operation of data pipelines, analytics workloads and other data engineering activities.
• Manage and analyse IT asset data using Flextera and ServiceNow platforms, identifying anomalies and ensuring data accuracy.
• Develop data models and integration solutions to optimise Asset Management processes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and alignment with data from various sources, including discovery sources, agents, and CMDB, to provide a comprehensive asset overview.
• Support the creation and implementation of treatment plans for aging assets, considering scope, budget, and priorities.
• Collaborate closely with the team to understand and adhere to our controls, policies, and reporting requirements.
• Identify automation opportunities of current manual workflows.
• Deliver data insight reports - preferably using Power BI.

Your Skills and Experience

• Experience in data analysis or a related field.
• Proficiency in data-related software and tools is preferred but not mandatory; understanding data is key.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to decipher complex data sets.
• Knowledge of data management tools and processes, with experience in data normalization and reporting.
• Familiarity with IT asset management principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
