Location: Regionally based, this is a flexible hybrid arrangement. Our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 2 office days per week for this role at our Bradford site. For those who prefer to work on-site, our offices are open Monday-Friday during working hours.  

 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Reporting to the Environmental Reporting Manager the purpose of the Compliance Data Analyst is to ensure accurate data and reporting is maintained. They are responsible for the accurate interpretation of corporate data sources from various systems including SAP, SDP, RTS, Pi Data link to support regulatory reporting (EDM, U_Mon, DWF, Retrospective reporting, Compliance), EIR data submissions, CAR form data request.

 

Where you fit in:

 

As our Compliance Data Analyst, you will:

  • Creation of data sets that support our annual submissions.
  • Analysing data to determine compliance against permit areas, PFF, Storm Overflows, Storm Tanks, Emergency overflows.
  • Accurate interpretation of large data sets to identify data anomalies or areas of concern which could result in incorrect data been released by the business.
  • Completion of data gathering and analysis for regulatory responses prior to legal review
  • Collation and analysis of data for EIR request.
  • Produce accurate reporting on compliance areas that feed up to all levels in the business.
  • Pipeline engineering hydraulics and how to apply hydraulic formulae to investigations
  • Investigation into network discrepancies to validate accuracy of area level reporting and to initiate further investigations
  • Initiate investigations to performance assurance specialist and co-ordinate escalation to Storm Overflow engineers.
  • Understand PMA performance and variation to use an indicator of network performance.
  • Analysing historic spills, looking for opportunities to improve the reporting / validation methodology.

 

Reporting:

  • Leads and reviews Operability regularly and reports accurately on all issues causing operability failure.
  • Ownership of data completeness
  • Initiating data quality flagging for poor, suspect data
  • Proactive identification of data source failure, promoting the relevant field activity and taking ownership through to resolution
  • Undertake detailed investigations into problematic DMAs to resolve consumption issues e.g. voids, illegal connections, domestic and commercial consumption, network configuration
  • Validation of the YW corporate systems that inform the EDM model and initiate improvements when inaccuracies identified.
  • Build key working relationships with rest of team as well as with wider community of data providers and support functions Ww Operations, Asset Management, Asset Records, Customer Billing.
  • Take ownership of data maintenance, working with the data owner and data steward to agree and monitor against levels of service from service providers.
  • Build good relationships and communication links with Data maintenance team, ER, BSG, SDP, data science.
  • Provide timely Management Information Reports on compliance performance and activity.
  • Be able to present a thorough audit trail through the YW corporate systems to support accurate reporting for our PC’s
  • Develop thorough knowledge of Area but be flexible to support other Areas as required.

 

Systems:

  • Highly developed skills in accessing data from other corporate systems including Odyssey, SAP, SAP/WMS2, Intranet, Outlook email, EDMS Asset Inventory, RTS, ROD and presenting information to support performance and issues. External systems, Storm Harvester, palette

 

What skills, experience & qualifications you will need:

  • Qualifications to HND level or evidence of relevant experience in a numerical role or IT role.
  • Understanding of the Wastewater system
  • Proven track record of interpreting / compiling and data analysis
  • Develop excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Experienced in Yorkshire Water’s corporate systems including SAP, AI2, Odyssey, outlook email services
  • Confident at presenting
  • Effective communication skills, an empathetic attitude and experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Be enthusiastic with the ability to demonstrate drive, dedication, and ambition to deliver first class customer service skills
  • Demonstrate ability to negotiate and influence at higher, strategic levels
  • Demonstrate ability to work on your own initiative, good attention to detail and be an effective decision maker

Be an effective time manager to meet stringent timescales, with the ability to multi-task, as the role demands
