Position Summary:

 The SAP Master Data Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing master data within the SAP environment, specifically focusing on SAP Master Data Governance (MDG). This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data across the supply chain. The Master Data Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives, drive data quality improvements, and implement best practices. This position is part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team and works closely with stakeholders across multiple regions and functions to ensure data standards and governance processes are adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Governance:

  • Data Management: Manages the creation, updates, maintenance, and quality of master data records in SAP MDG and related systems including materials/products, customers, vendors and financial data, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Standards Adherence: Establish and enforce master data standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization to maintain data integrity.
  • Data Governance: Enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Implement and manage data governance processes, policies and procedures including data validation, cleansing, and enrichment activities.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners, to understand their data needs, gather requirements, and communicate data governance solutions effectively, facilitating collaboration and alignment across the organization.

• Innovation:

  • Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, master data management best practices, and technology advancements through training programs and certifications. Provide innovative solutions that enhance data quality and governance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation within existing master data management practices to achieve higher levels of data quality and efficiency. Generate reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor data quality and performance, presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.

• Mastery:

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of SAP MDG applications, modules, and integration systems. Provide guidance and mentorship to technical teams for effective problem-solving and knowledge transfer. Analyse master data trends, patterns, and anomalies to identify insights and opportunities for improvement.
  • Data Quality Management: Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure the quality, completeness, and accuracy of master data. Identify and resolve discrepancies and errors. Analyse master data quality metrics, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal data quality.
  • Solution Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including data models, process flows, and governance policies, to facilitate efficient data management and troubleshooting.
  • Capability Building: Design, develop, and deliver training programs to enhance organizational capabilities in master data management, fostering stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement in data governance practices. Provide support and guidance to SAP users on master data-related issues, queries, and requests, including troubleshooting data issues and providing training on data entry procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience as SAP Master Data Analyst with expertise in SAP MDG or other database type solutions.
• 2+ years of experience in a high-tech engineering or manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP MDG modules, applications, integration methodologies, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant SAP certifications, particularly in SAP MDG (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Master Data Governance), are a plus.
• Proficient at Microsoft Excel: Power Query and Power BI proficiency preferred.
