National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

 

As an Associate Data Analyst, Management Data Analysis you will manage, support, and monitor contracts and contractual relationships for outsourced electric construction contracts for National Grid. In this role you will gather data, develop reports, prepare presentations, and make recommendations related to these contracts and serve as the point of contact for our contractors. You will also have the opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team of fellow data analysts.

 

This is a hybrid role based in Waltham, Massachusetts.

What You’ll Do

As an Associate Data Analyst, you will work to provide the valuable metrics on contract performance that drive the assignment of work and identify risks related to safety. 

 

In this role you will: 

 

  • Summarize and interpret statistical results and designs and implement process improvements. 
  • Analyze performance, business modeling, general business operations and benchmark across similar organizations. 
  • Drive new initiatives and work closely with key stakeholders to find a better way to develop and deliver projects more efficiently. 
  • Development and refinement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Troubleshoot issues, address concerns and present findings to stakeholders, both internal and external, for Distribution, Transmission, Substation, Civil and Matting categories of work. 
  • Ensure all data is robust, accurate, consistent, and formatted for relevant audiences, and compare and analyze plans and forecasts with actual results. 
  • Develop strong working relationships with all departments involved in the organization development. 

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or equivalent from an accredited institution    
  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025   
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization) 

It would be awesome if you had

  • Coding experience
  • Data analysis experience

 

More Information

Salary Range 
Waltham, Massachusetts $62,900 - $81,400 a year 

 

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
