Summary

As a senior scientist, you will report to the Principal Scientist, Translational Sciences. We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Senior Scientist to join the Translational Sciences team at our company in Singapore. In this role, the candidate will lead the design and implementation of advanced >30 parameter flow cytometry panels for patient material profiling and developing analytical capabilities for hi-dimensional flow cytometry data. Collaborating across translational research projects, the candidate will support the generation and analysis of hi-dimensional profiling data, contribute to target discovery and prioritization for projects across a spectrum of therapeutic areas.
 

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to stay abreast of emerging technologies, machine learning analytics and engage in external collaborations with various clinical and academic institutions to drive translational research initiatives. In addition, the ideal candidate will be capable of multitasking projects and working across teams in a collaborative environment, demonstrating strong adaptability and interpersonal skills.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and establishment of >30 parameter flow cytometry panels for comprehensive patient material profiling in alignment with project objectives

  • Build analytical capabilities for hi-dimensional flow cytometry data to extract meaningful insights and support decision-making in translational studies

  • Provide expertise and support the generation of hi-dimensional profiling data from patient material across diverse translational research studies.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from cross-functional project teams to leverage high dimensional profiling data for target discovery, target prioritization and understanding the mechanism of action of novel therapeutics

  • Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and methods, and evaluate their utility in improving existing disease model platforms in capturing key aspects of human tumor biology.

  • Contribute to authoring and reviewing project proposals, scientific publications, validation reports and laboratory procedures as appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of experiments and results in electronic notebooks and/or other required formats in compliance with company policies and project needs.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • PhD degree in life science discipline with more than 5 years of relevant research experience

  • Demonstrated track record in performing research in immunology or oncology disease area

  • Experience with hi-dimensional flow cytometry and other related skillsets

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including RNA extraction, qPCR, etc.

  • Experience with aseptic cell culture techniques

  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Good organization and time management skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing novel methodologies in flow cytometry or molecular biology

  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.


Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with spectral cytometry

  • Familiarity with flow cytometry principles, experimental design, and data analysis implementing machine learning algorithms and techniques

  • Experience in developing and implementing novel computational or bioinformatics approaches for analyzing high-dimensional flow cytometry data.

  • Familiarity with scientific software such as FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, TIBCO Spotfire, R or Python, etc.

  • Experience with lab and clinical sample inventory management

  • Prior experience in mentoring and training junior researchers or postgraduate students

  • If possible, please provide up to 3 individuals who can provide a reference for your work
