Director Analytics & Insights

A Day in the Life: 

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Analytics and Insights to lead our data initiatives within the rental car industry. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data analytics and a thorough understanding of the unique dynamics of the car rental market. This role is crucial in driving business growth by providing deep insights that optimize fleet management, competitive market dynamics, ancillary products, customer experience, and operational efficiency, and organizing these findings into strategic action plans.

 

What You’ll Do:

• Strategy Development: Develop and execute a robust analytics strategy that supports the company’s objectives within the highly competitive rental car industry.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts and insights professionals, ensuring they deliver high-quality, actionable insights.
• Customer Insights: Leverage data to understand customer behavior, preferences, and pain points, driving improvements in customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve service delivery through data-driven insights.
• Fleet Optimization: Utilize data to optimize fleet management, including vehicle utilization, maintenance scheduling, and acquisition strategies.
• Market Analytics: Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to inform forward-looking growth and fleet needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience, Finance, and Fleet Management to provide analytical support and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate key metrics and insights specific to the rental car industry to the executive team.
• Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and apply this knowledge to enhance the company’s competitive edge.
• Data Governance: Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across all analytics activities, promoting best practices in data management.

 

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the rental car industry or related sectors (e.g., transportation, automotive, travel) is strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R), data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and statistical analysis software.
• Leadership: Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Relevant certifications in data analytics or data science (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, Google Data Analytics Certification).
• Experience: Experience with fleet management systems, pricing optimization tools, and customer analytics in the rental car industry.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the rental car industry, including fleet management, pricing strategies, customer experience, and operational challenges.
• Tools: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is an advantage.
