Senior Director, Health Data Strategy - US - Remote/ Hybrid

The Senior Director, Health Data Strategy has primary responsibility for managing a team to develop and leverage/manage strategic data partnerships, data acquisition, data asset optimization, data acquisition efficiencies, and innovative solutions to drive business value, speed, and business impact.  Moreover, this person will support building capabilities and best practices in data acquisition and data partner management and will support best practices across the enterprise.  This crucial role is the primary interface for day to day interactions of data partnership operations,  strategy and transformation initiatives, and internal customers.

What you will do

  Strategic Data Partnerships:

  • Lead a team to onboard data partners and cultivate new strategic relationships with emerging data partners.

  • Drive Symphony’s roadmap and strategy to align with the business’s overarching goals and objectives.

  • Support the development and execution of the Data Acquisition Strategy, capturing the needs and demands from strategic business units.
     

 Data Asset Optimization:

  • Ensure that both traditional and non-traditional data acquisitions are owned, stewarded, and optimized for critical insights.

  • Support the Data Excellence organization by leveraging existing or newly acquired data to improve decision-making across the enterprise.
     

  Vendor & Contract Management:

  • Manage and optimize relationships and contracts with current and emerging vendors.
  • Oversee third-party agreements, data sharing arrangements, and contracts to ensure risk and legal compliance.
     

  Customer & Internal Team Collaboration:

  • Drive customer satisfaction by implementing the data acquisition strategy and aligning it with business needs.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure data assets are efficiently utilized for business impact and intelligent action.
     

  Innovation & Strategic Input:

  • Identify the data required to meet evolving business needs and provide input into business cases.

  • Lead research and strategy implementation to enhance the company’s data acquisition capabilities and drive value.

Your Profile

  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience in strategic contract/account/vendor management, metadata management, or related fields.

  • Extensive experience in risk and legal reviews of vendor contracts and licensing agreements related to external data.

  • Proven ability to successfully manage teams and achieve results.

  • Experience working with various types of patient healthcare data assets.

  • Strong background in sales and partnering processes, including contract negotiations.

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally towards common goals.

  • Executive-level communication skills.

  • Reside in the US.

  • Ability to travel nationally (15%-25%).

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, research-based social science, statistics, pharmacology, or quantitative methods required.

  • MBA or a similar advanced degree preferred.
