Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Capital Partners Portfolio Risk Analyst in our Enterprise Risk Management team.  In this role, you will get the opportunity to work with a variety of other teams across the Capital Partners line of business with exposure to senior leaders, portfolio managers, traders, and research analysts. You will be one of the core members in the second line of defense risk function across Portfolio Trading Strategies as Quantitative Risk Analyst.

In this level role, you will develop your skill set in quantitative analysis and risk management, and gain in depth knowledge of financial products, regulatory requirements, and an understanding of trading processes.

Some of your key responsibilities include:  

  • Conduct deep dive analysis to support risk management, which includes risk sensitivities, value at risk (VaR) and stress scenario analysis.
  • Analyze portfolio holdings to identify potential risks to a portfolio, fund, or strategy.
  • Gain understanding of internal and vendor models, including liquidity models.
  • Utilize Python, Business Intelligence tool(s), SQL, AI to build out independent risk management oversight, streamline and enhance both new and existing processes.
  • Generate risk reports with value-add, concise conclusions for various stakeholders.
  • Participate in other team initiatives such as large-scale projects, including new product initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, quantitative finance, computer science, data analytics or related degree;
  • Master’s degree with some relevant experience is a plus;
  • Experience with data analysis (SQL)s in relational databases;
  • Working knowledge with Python, R or other analytical tools for large scale data analysis;
  • Experience with a Business Intelligence tool is a plus;
  • Strong technical writing and briefing skills;
  • Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, work independently and also in a team environment;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, computer science, information technology, economics, or finance;
  • Understanding of business processes and associated analytics;
  • Experience with machine learning is a plus (natural language processing and AI).

This role is based in our New York City location and is a hybrid role, with three days per week in office.

Salary Range

$70k-$80k base salary + annual bonus target

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
