About the Role:
We are looking for a Junior Bioinformatician with a strong interest in metabolomics and lipidomics to join our research team focused on lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) models. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career bioinformatician to develop expertise in data analysis and interpretation of high-throughput mass spectrometry datasets. You will work closely with senior scientists, supporting ongoing projects and learning advanced bioinformatics techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis of metabolomics and lipidomics datasets from mass spectrometry experiments.
- Develop and maintain bioinformatics pipelines using R or Python for processing and analyzing omics data.
- Collaborate with senior team members to support data integration and biological interpretation of results.
- Contribute to project reports and scientific publications, presenting findings as needed.
- Ensure the reproducibility of analyses and workflows.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis.
- Strong interest in metabolomics, lipidomics, or bioinformatics-related research.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Familiarity with Bash scripting and basic machine learning methods.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity) for reproducible research.
- Understanding of mass spectrometry data and omics technologies such as metaboloomics.
- Previous experience or interest in lysosomal storage disorders or related genetic diseases.
