Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Provincial Registries System Maintenance, Operations and Data Integrity Team, the Data Integrity Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the data within the Provincial Client Registry, Provincial Provider Registry, Delivery Site Registry, the Provincial Organizational Registry as well as other related applications.  

The Data Integrity Analyst provides business user support to health records, registration and other business stakeholders. This position plays an integral role by identifying, investigating and electronically resolving linkages, overlays, duplicates and other data integrity issues within the registries. The Data Integrity Analyst uses various tools (e.g. reports, emails, dashboard, information presented in various formats electronically via a myriad of available applications, etc.) to remediate data integrity errors to the best of his/her ability while maintaining or exceeding established targets.  The Data Integrity Analyst contributes to the overall management of client identification within the evolving Electronic Health Record arena, ensuring patient safety and record integrity is not compromised through any potential patient misidentification.  The role entails participating in the Registries’ testing phases with a focus on data quality. Analysis, evaluation and development of business policies related to client identification practices and the registration processes in support of the provincial Electronic Health Record may be required. Business user service desk support also falls onto the list of responsibility of this role. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate superior communication, as you will be comfortable and effective when providing service desk support and responding to verbal and written client’s requests for assistance. You will need to be organized and skilled at building strong and effective relationships as you work closely with a number of internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to analyze information from multiple sources and make decisions based on sometimes incomplete or inconsistent information.  Attention to detail combined with an ability to see the big picture and being able to understand, follow, analyze, evaluate and develop business processes and procedures related to client identification, data integrity, identity management and registration systems will be success factors for this role.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • A related one-year certificate (e.g. Medical Terminology), supplemented by at least two (2) years of relevant experience. Equivalences may be considered
  • Experience in health records or client/patient registration field
  • Understanding and following registration best practices with the focus on data integrity 
  • Strong knowledge of admissions/discharge/transfer systems
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel


Assets: 

  • 3-4 years working experience with provincial registration and records management practices
  • Experience using Alberta Health's Person Directory, Provincial Client Registry, Delivery Site Registry, Provincial Organizational Registry, Provincial Provider Registry, NetCare, Central Stakeholder Registry, Eligibility and Premiums or other Ministry applications
  • Ability to understand and interpret demographic records and registration data for the  purpose of uniquely identifying a patient
  • Experience in end user training


Equivalencies may be considered – directly related education or experience on the basis of 

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Notes

This competition will be used to fill two (2) full-time permanent position.

Hours of Work
7.25 hours daily/ 36.25 hours weekly, Monday to Friday
 
Location
ATB Place North, Edmonton, Alberta. This position requires working from the office with an option to qualify for a hybrid work arrangement (in accordance with GOA policy).
