Job Description:

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a talented and motivated intern with a passion for coding, data science, and civil engineering to join our team. The selected intern will play a critical role in the development and deployment of innovative web applications designed to support our civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into efficient, high-quality code
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain web applications on Linux-based systems
  • Contribute to the improvement of our internal software tools and streamline processes
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving software issues as they arise

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, and other O365 related products
  • Experience deploying software on Linux-based systems
  • Prior experience with web app deployment
  • Working knowledge of DevOps tools, such as GitHub
  • Basic understanding of engineering and construction terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills
  • A genuine interest in both software development and civil engineering

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

The compensation range for an Intern is between $17.00 to $24.20. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
