Role description

You will be responsible for the oversight of data governance management within Reference Data. You will provide transparency of data governance issues to our stakeholders, help identify the gaps within our data landscape, and maintain essential metadata required by Reference Data within our suite of tools including Collibra.  You will also work closely with both our operational teams and Chief Data Office to ensure Reference Data remains compliant with the latest data policies

Your key responsibilities:

• Provide expert oversight of Reference Data Governance assets within Collibra including Data Elements, Metrics and Authority Statements
• Provide Reference Data Leadership with a transparent view over the progress of relevant Data Governance issues and Data Management more broadly
• Work closely with operations team SMEs and Platform Owners to ensure the Data Landscape is accurately recorded, controls are present and registered within bank registries, and suitable monitoring of their effectiveness in place
• Collaborate across Data Divisions to ensure the timely remediation of high priority issues
• Engage with our dashboard designers to develop and enhance tooling that will provide a consistent view of our issues and bring insights into their resolution
• Advocating the strategic adoption of a more robust reference data governance framework across the group and demonstrating the benefits through stakeholder presentations and wider network across the organization.
• Support and drive forward the wider Group Chief Data Officer (CDO) agenda through advocating and implementing policies, frameworks, and standards, providing potential areas of additional responsibility for the role holder.

Your skills and experience:

• Understanding of key Data Management concepts including Data Lineage, Data Quality and Data Governance.
• Confident user of Collibra with experience of workflows and building diagram views
• Self-starter, independent working style with an ability to build strong relationships across the stakeholder network
• Keen interest in thought leadership in the context of best practice in data management
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a simplified digestible way to a wide range of stakeholders. Skilled in producing executive summaries that communicate business value clearly to the intended audience
• Not afraid to work with a senior stakeholder group, and provide challenge where appropriate
