Role Summary

The Senior Business Analyst on the Sales and Client Data Strategy Team will be responsible for supporting a comprehensive data strategy in line with overall business priorities and sales capabilities to lay the groundwork for the long-term vision of a data-driven organization.  In this position, you will work with cross-functional teams to support strategic roadmaps, initiatives, and protocols.

The Global Sales Management (GSM) Business Group is looking for a Senior Business Analyst of Sales Data Strategy who will work closely with the Distribution Enablement and Sales Intelligence and Insights teams.  The Senior Business Analyst will also interact with other departments within TRP Investment, including Global Marketing, Global Product, CFO/AUM, Investment Operations and Global Client Account Services.  This person will be supporting initiatives in the US Intermediaries, Retirement Plan Services, and the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe Sales units that will define, socialize, and measure outcomes for data initiatives. 

The Senior Business Analyst will independently conduct advanced data management and reporting assignments. This person will have a comprehensive knowledge of data lifecycle management and will be an advocate for data standards within cross-functional teams to ensure data is regarded as accurate, timely, reliable, and trusted by business stakeholders. The Senior Business Analyst will act as the primary point of contact for management of complex data sets and related data requests and will serve as point of contact and participate in data governance discussions that span across the business unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a consultant to the business on complex data and reporting requests. Ensures that data reporting and analyses provided to internal clients and stakeholders are done in a timely manner and are of the highest level of quality. Provides analysis and recommendations for current and future needs, which minimize redundancy and maximize compatibility of data within and across the business unit. Escalates data protection/privacy issues, as necessary. Provides guidance on data issues identified by more junior professionals.
  • Implements processes and controls for the creation, consumption, assimilation, and/or destruction of data. Contributes to cross-functional projects. Ensures project goals are in line with data management goals in terms of data and reporting needs. Partners with internal stakeholders to translate complex definitions and content to ensure model and reporting adoption.
  • Administers the testing of new systems and contributes to system development. Leads investigations, analyses, and evaluations to determine enhancement feasibility and implications for data accuracy.
  • Performs data curation and governance activities, including developing and supporting technical workflows, developing operational data management reports and metrics, enhancing existing models, and building and supporting frameworks and processes. Trains junior professionals and support staff to understand the data and data management operational processes.
  • Proactively monitors and manages complex data sets. Implements and executes data quality and maintenance programs in alignment with T. Rowe Price policies and procedures. Evangelizes best practices for the business.
  • Works in collaboration with stakeholders across functions to develop policies and procedures that will enforce repeatable and reliable processes, thus reducing the variability, increasing efficiency, and enhancing overall data quality and compliance.
  • Identifies and shapes continuous improvement opportunities and recommendations that drives data to better serve the business.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of asset management / investments with sale and distribution focus preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis, data documentation, data quality monitoring and improvement.
  • Experience with relevant sales and analytical systems is preferred, specifically with Salesforce, Snowflake, and Analytics tools (Tableau, Alteryx).
  • Familiar with data governance concepts.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills as well as the ability to influence key decision-makers and understand their points of view.
  • Must be able to work effectively both on teams as well as be self-motivated, task oriented and organized.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.

Regional Requirements:

Base salary range:

$114,500 - $195,000 Annual USD

For the location of:

New York

*Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
