  • Provide technical guidance, coordinate and support our bioinformatics team

  • Design and development of workflows (scripting - Python, Bash, Perl, R) in collaboration with technical teams for prediction/processing/visualization of biological data

  • Application and further development of machine learning algorithms in the field of protein biochemistry

  • Data evaluation, data analysis and further processing of DNA/RNA raw sequencing data from Oxford Nanopore and Illumina technology.

  • Support shaping and maintaining our bioinformatics server infrastructure.

  • Scouting of new trends/technologies in the field of bioinformatics.

  • Presenting bioinformatics methods and their results in internal and external meetings.

  • Completed studies (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dipl.) in the field of bioinformatics or related disciplines

  • Optional: Doctoral studies in the field of bioinformatics, data science or related disciplines is a plus

  • Good knowledge of R, Perl, Python, Bash and/or other scripting languages

  • Experience in the field of "Next Generation Sequencing" and processing of raw sequence data

  • Basic knowledge in the area of Machine Learning

  • Basic Linux/Unix knowledge

  • Fluent in English and good skills in German

  • Creative, uncomplicated and pragmatic 

  • Enjoy working independently in dynamic project teams in a scientific research environment

  • Willingness to design and implement (hands-on mentality)

  • Agile and efficient in both small and medium-sized teams

  • Very good communication skills and willingness to proactively communicate in all directions (project team, collaboration partners, "up and down")
