About the Role: 

We are seeking a Data Operations Manager, Location – Divisional Headquarters QLD.  

 

Purpose of the Role: 

 

The purpose of the Data Operations Manager role is to lead the successful delivery of data automation, integration, and information governance projects, ensuring they align with the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves coordinating activities between multiple projects, overseeing project execution, and managing cross-functional teams, giving detailed attention to program strategy and implementation. The manager will also play a critical role in driving innovation, improving data processes, and implementing a robust data platform all while managing resources and budgets to deliver high-quality outcomes that support TSA Strategic Objectives.  

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:   

Lead and develop Data integrations by delivering and directing business stakeholders, project managers, and IT to translate requirements into technical builds.  

People Management and Leadership 

 

  • Team Management: Lead a cross functional  team of BI and technical analysts, and Engineers aligning goals with strategic objectives. 

  • Leadership: Mentor analysts and engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative environment. 

  • Talent Development: Address skill gaps, provide feedback, and promote career growth. 

  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources across projects to meet deadlines and objectives. 

  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve team conflicts professionally to maintain cohesion and productivity. 

Program/Project Delivery 

  • Project Planning: Manage the planning and execution of complex data automation and governance projects within scope, time, and budget. 

  • Risk Management: Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance. 

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet high standards of accuracy and reliability. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance delivery efficiency through process and tool improvements. 

Managing Budgets 

  • Budget Planning: Develop and manage project budgets, aligning expenditures with strategic priorities. 

  • Cost Management: Control costs, ensuring savings without sacrificing quality or timelines. 

  • Financial Reporting: Report on budget performance and ROI to senior leadership for informed decision-making. 

Managing Data Services  

  • Data Automation: Lead automation initiatives to ensure accurate, up-to-date data and streamlined workflows. 

  • Data Governance: Oversee data quality management through profiling, cleansing, and validation processes. 

  • Issue Management: Develop processes for monitoring and resolving issues in data integration and flows. 

  • Information Security: Ensure compliance with security policies to protect sensitive data. 

  • Access Control: Manage role-based access and conduct regular audits to maintain security. 

 

 

Education Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related programming field. 

  • Master's degree or MBA (preferred), particularly with a focus on technology management or business administration. 

  • Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile (Scrum Master, AgilePM). 

  • Certification in Data Management or Data Governance, such as DMBOK Certified  

Experience:   

  • Proven track record with 8-10 years of experience in technology delivery, particularly in data automation, integration, and governance projects. 

  • Leading Technical teams using excellent communication skills and collaborative approach to achieve business value.  

  • Experience with Azure Cloud platform, and M365 suite of applications  

 

Requirements of the role: 

 

  • A national police record check is required.
