Are you our new Business Intelligence Analyst who will enable smooth and fact-based claims operations?

As our Business Intelligence Analyst, you will have a key role in ensuring that when bad luck strikes, our customers’ lives get back to normal as quickly and smoothly as possible. We are continuously improving our services and as BI Analyst you will contribute to value creation and ensure we stay ahead by supporting in transforming analysis into actionable insights.

About the role

Claims is a crucial part of If from a financial, people and customer perspective. In Claims we have appr. 1.800 committed claims professionals caring for our customers and taking care of 2 million customer claims per year.

You will be a part of Nordic Claims Business Intelligence & Reporting Chapter in Claims Controlling and Business Development, reporting to Chapter Lead for BI & Reporting. The main area of responsibility for Chapter is to secure world-class business performance follow-up and through data analyses provide business insights to support decision making demands. To support you, we have established close co-operation between Controlling, Business Development, Data Management and Analytics communities. As our BI Analyst, you have mandate to release the power of If’s many data assets to raise automation, optimize digital experiences, improve operational efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction.

In this position you will have a unique opportunity to collaborate and network throughout our organisation as well as monitor, analyze, visualize, and communicate fact-based intelligence of our operations. You have a key role in drawing conclusions from data and helping business stakeholders translate these into decisions and actions.

Your responsibility will also be

  • Support and challenge the organization on performance and value creation 
  • Contributing to our operational reporting and analysis of results
  • Maintaining and developing our current reports
  • Contributing to the development of a Nordic Datawarehouse by giving input on content and promoting its use in your own and others’ work
  • Being a role model, contributing to our professional way of working and knowledge sharing

Who are you?

You are a team player and have strong ability to suggest new ways in which analytics can improve our operations and services for customer and company alike. Based on your experience and analytical skills you have an instinct for what kind of analytics is best suited to address a business problem. You have excellent communication skills enabling you to work pro-actively and efficiently in different settings. A high sense of responsibility defines you, and you can be trusted to deliver. You enjoy both understanding the big picture but also working with details. You are passionate about striving for improvements. You have curios mind with a proactive attitude, and you challenge yourself to grow.

You also have:

  • Excellent analytical, data processing, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent skills & experience in using BI tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience of data transformation and programming (e.g. SQL).
  • Self-motivation and ability to work in a delivery-oriented environment
  • Agile mindset
  • Fluency in English and one of the Nordic Languages
  • Relevant academic/university degree
  • Knowledge of insurance business and digital development in the financial industry and experience with Microsoft Azure is considered a bonus
