Please note that we are an in-office company, which means the expectation is that you would come in to your Applied Intuition office 5 days a week.

About the role

We are looking for a Head of AI Research who will lead our team in the research and development of cutting-edge machine learning technologies for automotive applications across our core product pillars. You will build and lead an organization of world class machine learning researchers and engineers who will be researching and developing new capabilities that will accelerate the widespread adoption of safe and intelligent machines. This position is ideal for a leader with a strong background in AI and machine learning, a commitment to quality, and a desire to make a real impact by advancing the state of the art of autonomous systems development and validation.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Build, manage and mentor a team of world-class applied researchers
  • Drive the vision of AI within the company, working with cross-functional teams to define new research initiatives, bring research to production, and identify key technologies to develop
  • Work closely with customers to define requirements for AI capabilities

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • PhD in computer science, physics, robotics, or equivalent
  • 4+ years working in the machine learning space
  • Experience leading machine-learning research teams
  • Published research and/or talks at top conferences such as CVPR, ICLR, ICRA, and NeurIPS
  • Experience working on research in autonomous driving 

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.

Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.

Please reference the job posting’s subtitle for where this position will be located. For pay transparency purposes, the base salary range for this full-time position in the location listed is:  $242,000 - $307,000 USD annually.
