Summary

As a Senior Analyst, you will work alongside our team of analysts to implement analytical solutions in our fast-paced commercial environment. With your intuitive understanding of data and analytics, you will passionately drive innovative analytical thinking and advocate for a data-driven solutions adhering to best practice principles.

Your main responsibility is to lead complex data projects, using your expertise to derive actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence. Your role is pivotal in converting vast and intricate datasets into valuable information that guides the organisation's direction and empowers team members at all levels.

Your responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end process, from requirement gathering, solution design, data collection and pre-processing to data visualisation and statistical modelling. Working collaboratively with multi-functional teams, you will define requirements, build data models and present insight through dashboards or presentations. Your proficiency in data manipulation, programming languages, and analytical tools will enable you to build scalable solutions that support the business strategy. You will also be a champion for Data Governance and Security ensuring we protect the organisations data.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate to understand requirements and offer solutions grounded in commercial and analytical understanding.
  • Support Lead Analysts/Analytics Manager in achieving the team's objectives, strategic direction and help shape its future.
  • Deliver sophisticated data solutions that are performant and scalable across descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive insights.
  • Develop analytical solutions that provide automation to manual processes improving efficiencies.
  • Integrating multi-source data to create a comprehensive dataset. Ensuring data accuracy and integrity by cleaning and converting raw data into usable formats.
  • Applying statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights within the data.
  • Draw meaningful conclusions from the data analysis that can guide business decisions and strategies. Providing actionable insights to team members and decision-makers based on the analysis.
  • Communicate data analysis via presentations, reports, and dashboards to various team members.
  • Support the analysis team with technical guidance in analytical understanding and new methodologies. Ensuring high quality output in terms of style, layout and adhere to standard methodologies.
  • Champion security and data governance, ensuring all solutions built by the team meet the required standards.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to cultivate a thriving analytics environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and ideas.
  • Collaborate with the wider Data Team to ensure we have the right data and solutions available to deliver our analytical priorities.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and industry developments relating to analytics, data, and technology.
  • Act as a data and analytical consultant to help recognise opportunities for improvement, drive understanding, and provide solutions across the business.
  • Support and encourage experimental approaches to technological and analytical challenges.
  • Champion an agile way of working, promoting a ‘test and learn’ approach and culture.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis/business intelligence or related field.
  • Extensive demonstrable experience using Power BI.
  • Extensive experience of SQL across varied data platforms and structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Experience in visualising data and presenting analytics.
  • Knowledge of manipulating and transforming data sets and applying analytical methodologies.
  • Knowledge and practical applications of Microsoft Power App’s and Power Automate.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and effective Analytics or Insight function.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods (Regression, Classification, etc.). Utilising tools like Excel, Python, R, SQL, and specialised data analysis software to perform these tasks.
  • Ability to translate technical data to be easily understood by non-technical consumers.
  • Demonstrable history of generating value through previous data analysis endeavours.
  • Experience with data environments such as Hadoop Impala and/or Hive would be a bonus
  • Experience in Python and/or R or other analytical coding languages would be a bonus
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies such as ADLS, Synapse, and/or Databricks would be a bonus
