Position Overview

Join us in our support to the US Space Force (HQ USSF) COMSATCOM Office. Our team provides high quality, comprehensive and diversified expert support services to deliver and integrate a transformative COMSATCOM business model into an overarching SATCOM enterprise environment. We are seeking a Senior Acquisition Consultant to provide strategic acquisition guidance and subject matter expertise to COMSATCOM customers and requirements. Job duties include:

Responsibilities

  • Advise HQ USSF on acquisition strategies as the COMSATCOM market evolves.
  • Serve as the lead liaison between the HQ USSF contracting office and user organizations to identify all acquisition requirements are captured, and provide planning assistance in developing an end-to-end solution to satisfy operational requirements.
  • Provide oversight in the development of acquisition plans in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 7.1 to identify all acquisition milestones and establish and delineate the acquisition strategies.
  • Coordinate with systems engineers to ensure technical requirements are achievable.
  • Ensure the procurement strategies are achievable for the intended results and in accordance with the FARs and guidelines.
  • Lead the development of performance metrics to establish a performance based contractual relationship with potential industry partners.
  • Draft contractual modifications, as required by Government Contracting Officers.
  • Create effective and prompt written communications.
  • Communicate verbally with all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor procurement milestones and make certain deadlines are met.
  • Assist the Government with responding to industry communications, including, industry days, questions and answers, and requests for clarification.
  • Assist the Government in managing Defense Working Capital Funds (DWCFs) and Appropriated accounts, track and manage accounts receivable, audit program designation codes, and organizational accounts.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Government acquisition; 
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must provide excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with program/project management operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of COMSATCOM provider business models preferred.
  • Experience with satellite systems and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) requirements-based planning and service provisioning.
  • Experience with program/project management operations.
  • Knowledge of COMSATCOM provider business models.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) Certification.
  • TS/SCI is preferred.
