The FTSE Russell business is establishing a Product team focused on developing target state Index and Data capabilities to transform the core Index Platforms and scale growth for FTSE Russell.

The Product Manager, Index Data Product, will drive strategic and cross-functional initiatives to build world class scalable Data capabilities for our Index Platforms.

The key responsibility will be to act as a product owner for technology to build fit-for-purpose software solutions for the Index Data Product capability and requires the candidate to successfully interact with a wide stakeholder group, designing solutions, owning specifications used for development, and ensuring sound execution.  The role will successfully interact with a wide stakeholder group, designing solutions, owning specifications used for development, and ensuring sound execution. Serving as a bridge between FTSE Russell customers, business stakeholders, other technology capabilities within FTSE Russell and outside FTSE Russell, they will input into the Data roadmap in line with broader Index Platform Strategy and Vision.  Critical to the role is a strong Agile and collaborative mindset, working well across many diverse groups and balancing outcomes that help drive capability excellence but also FTSE Russell goals.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategy, vision, and mission of their capability area, communicating that across FTSE Russell to wide stakeholder groups.
  • As product owner, develop proactive relationships with senior leaders across business units and technologists to design appropriate solutions, foster discussions and decisions around product & feature definition, feasibility, scoping, and development.
  • Own mid- to large-size transformational projects that aim to increase and broaden FTSE Russell’s product offering with quality data, improve quality of data, including being responsible for business and data analysis, development and refinement of strategies, and definition of current and future capability requirements.
  • Work with the other Capability Product Leads and Product Owners, as well as other stakeholders, in identifying capabilities required for automating, managing, maintaining and augmenting current data processing and data products as well as future data product expansion.
  • Define interfaces with key Index Platform capabilities and end users to provide data products to index processes and reporting/distribution.
  • Drive migration of existing data domains into the new Data Capability and integration with the new Index platform.
  • Define and drive adoption of control gates at appropriate stages of data processing with quality and scalability goals to ensure accurate, timely, production quality data is published in Data Products.

Profile/Skills

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in product ownership / technology / business analysis / program management / application delivery in banking or financial domain. Experience in Indexing / portfolio management (desired)
  • Extensive knowledge of market data, security reference data, primarily equities, bonds, mortgages, etc., security pricing, FX and interest rates, corporate actions, company/issuer reference data and industry classification and company fundamentals.
  • Exposure to how data is used within indexes and/or how indexes and index data are used by financial institutions (Fund, Portfolio or Wealth Management)
  • Experience in Data Analysis, Logical Data Modelling, Data Transformation including Business Transformation and Validation, and Data Management
  • Experience driving large-scale technology programs and designing digital transformation strategies.
  • Experience in portfolio construction, performance and risk calculations, optimization techniques and statistical analysis (desired)
  • Understanding of investment, business and technical perspective, ability to solve business challenges through technology.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and transformation
  • Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service), Cloud, Test-Driven Development (beneficial)
