Arch Capital Services, LLC., seeks Lead, Senior Data Scientist in Jersey City, NJ.

Job Duties: Build predictive models using advanced analytics techniques including GLM, text analytics, and machine learning. Work closely with business partners to understand the business problems they are trying to solve and help to develop the best-suited analytics solution. Develop powerful insights and tools using a variety of analytical techniques and technologies. Support the implementation of the analytics solutions that you develop. Establish robust monitoring processes for implemented solutions and provide regular feedback to business partners. Collaborate in cross-functional teams and share ideas to solve complex business problems. Discover, explore, and analyze internal and external datasets for the purpose of developing robust analytics solutions. Guide, support, mentor and develop the growing team of predictive modelers and data scientists. Advance the analytics team practices, processes, and documentation and continue to enhance existing tools and infrastructure in partnership with the data engineering, data visualization, and data science teams.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related field plus 5 years of experience in a predictive modelling, data science or decision science position with the P&C insurance industry.

Must have:

  • 2 years of python programming experience.
  • 1 year of experience developing models in cloud-based tools in Azure including Databricks, Snowflake, and Github.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in machine learning model implementation in cloud-based tools.
  • Experience in developing visualization dashboards in PowerBi.
  • Experience in developing ETL processes, data engineering in Snowflake and SQL.
  • Experience in model presentation and conducting underwriters' training.
  • Experience mentoring, training, and guiding the analytical work of junior data scientists.
  • Experience in managing data science and implementation teams.

Or in the alternate will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related field plus 3 years of experience in a predictive modelling, data science or decision science position with the P&C insurance industry.

Must have:

  • 2 years of python programming experience.
  • 1 year of experience developing models in cloud-based tools in Azure including Databricks, Snowflake, and Github.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in machine learning model implementation in cloud-based tools.
  • Experience in developing visualization dashboards in PowerBi.

Hybrid work model position, reporting 3 days in office and 2 days remote from within normal commuting distance of office location. National travel required 5% of the time to attend conferences and visit other Arch offices for meetings and workshops.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$170,373 - $201,066 per year

                 

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
