Position Summary

Are you interested in utilizing your advanced analytics skills to contribute to patient safety and dispensing monitoring for 1.6 billion annual prescriptions? The CVS team is currently seeking a skilled Senior Data Scientist to support pharmacy analytics. They will use their knowledge in Python scripting and SQL to investigate problems, detect patterns, and recommend solutions.
 

By joining us, you will be part of a journey to develop descriptive and predictive techniques that enhance the patient, prescriber, and pharmacist experience through comprehensive analytics and insights. This includes leveraging predictive and prescriptive insights from clustering, anomaly detection, and risk scoring techniques. Additionally, you will apply analytics to optimize tradeoffs and create scenario models to address various business inquiries. The candidate will collaborate with business leaders and partners to inform the analytics approach, identify quick wins, and enable step changes over time. They must be able to effectively influence and communicate with a non-technical audience and promote adoption to drive sustainable impact.

Position Description:

  • Utilize analytics expertise to collaborate with key leaders in identifying new use cases that align with ambitious goals in CVS pharmacy.
  • Gather business requirements from multiple stakeholders and lead the analysis of extensive data to develop strategies and tactics for solving complex problems and optimizing tradeoffs.
  • Lead initiatives focused on asset protection analytics, employing both descriptive and predictive techniques.
  • Create and deliver presentations that communicate insights derived from analytics, along with recommendations and plans for moving forward, to a diverse range of audiences including internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and provide input on the technology stack.


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in descriptive and predictive analytics including gathering requirements to meet data and technology pre-requisites
  • Strategic mindset and experience leading highly technical initiatives focused on deploying data and analytics solutions in healthcare
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, communicate insights and promote adoption of analytics insights
  • Deep expertise with data modeling/analytics in SQL and Python
  • Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and enable sustainable impact in front store operations


Preferred Qualifications

  • First hand experience in building models to generate predictive and prescriptive insights
  • Familiarity with the common Python libraries used in machine learning projects
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Snowflake.), including querying/mining large datasets and deploying projects on cloud systems.
  • Familiarity with working in an Agile framework.


Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.

Master’s degree or PhD preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $206,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
