The Deutsche Bank Chief Strategy Office drives the bank’s innovation strategy, thought leadership, technology partnerships, and investments. The team enables the bank to accelerate and drive business led innovation, and to deliver revenue growth and operational efficiencies for all bank. You will be joining the Innovation Engineering function within the Chief strategy Office in the role of Senior Data Scientist based in Dublin, Ireland.

The Innovation Engineering team in Dublin constitutes the bank’s AI centre of excellence. Key objectives of the team include the development and delivery of production quality AI products, creation of an AI ecosystem to support the trustworthy development of AI solutions, and training & education of AI practitioners and business users across the bank.

This role is critical to ensure the successful creation and delivery of data science and AI capability to the bank, encompassing AI technology strategy, full product development lifecycle, and developing AI development best practices and AI centric enterprise architecture principles.

Your key responsibilities

• Leading and inspiring a team of data engineers, cloud engineers, MLOps specialists to design and deliver the highest quality, innovative data science and AI capabilities.
• Contribute and influence strategic direction of AI engineering and governance for senior leadership using informal and formal communication.
• Enable Innovation in the Cloud – working with Innovation Engineering team and intra-bank partners to create an innovation environment with access to the latest cloud services and high-performance computation capability.
• Translating functional and non-functional business requirements into an appropriate technical. solution design, leveraging best practices and consistent design patterns.
• Set a standard for data and AI engineering execution and delivery in line with the bank’s architecture principles and strategic technology selection.
• Thought leadership for the Bank’s AI/ML agenda.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience), advanced degree preferred, in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics)
• Public cloud platforms including extensive GCP experience
• Cloud hosting: IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes, storage, backup, landing zone design
• Cloud workload deployment/migration: Plan, assess, design, build, run
• DevOps approach: Infra as code, agility, shift left, delivery, continuous feedback,
• Tooling: Terraform Enterprise, GitHub, CI/CD, automation, config management, monitoring
