Job Description

As the Senior Data Engineer, you will maintain, clean and manipulate data in the business's operational and analytics databases. You will work with our software engineers, data analytics teams, data scientists, and data warehouse engineers to understand and aid in the implementation of database requirements, analyze performance, and trouble shoot any existent issues. This is a remote position reporting to Director Merkury Data Management.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with Data Suppliers (technical) for receiving data feeds
  • You will work with Suppliers on technical and data related issues to resolve
  • You will work with Internal Contracts team to understand data terms, layout, permissible usage
  • You will work with Internal Support teams to set up sFTP or s3 access/accounts
  • You will validate data delivery from Suppliers to ensure the data is aligned with what is expected
  • You will work with our teams on requirements for processing the data
  • You will work with internal operations team to understand and support production processing on US time
  • You will maintain operational documents to ensure they are current
  • You will create optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Identify, design, implement internal process improvements; automate manual processes; improve data delivery, redesign infrastructure for greater scalability
  • You will work with partners including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Keep our data separated and secure
  • Understand data identity and analysis concepts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Snowflake
  • Python
  • SQL
  • Source Control (CI/CD) processes

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $94,000-$152,375. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
