Do you have the motivation and skills to play an important role in the Model Risk Governance team, which is part of the Model Risk Management department at Danske Bank?

Model Risk Management (MRM) serves as an integral and central component of Danske Bank's risk management strategy by providing an independent assessment of both new and existing models' performance.

Currently, the 16-person team in MRM is responsible for credit risk models (LGD, PD, CF), IFRS9, all credit decision models, and other related risk calculations. However, MRM's scope covers all model areas within Danske Bank. The department offers numerous opportunities for both personal and professional development.

We operate with a high level of empowerment, allowing you significant leeway to influence and structure your workday. You can choose the tools and innovative approaches for model validation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the entire MRM, both in Vilnius and Copenhagen.

This position can be in Lithuania, Denmark, or the United Kingdom depending on where the preferred candidate is based . If you are hired in Lithuania, the applicable salary range will be from 3440 to 5160 EUR monthly (based on your competencies relevant for the job).

Depending on your experience and knowledge, we may offer you a different seniority for the role.

You will:

As a member of the Model Risk Governance (MRG) team, you will collaborate with a diverse and highly skilled group of colleagues across various functions in Model Risk Management (MRM) and key stakeholders, including model developers and model owners. You will advise on model design, implementation, and performance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating projects where you will also be an active participant in completing the tasks
  • Organizing and conducting comprehensive analyses of specific models and data using applicable quantitative methods and tools
  • Assisting less experienced colleagues on assignments and projects
  • Interpreting results based on data analysis and documenting your conclusions

Upon concluding your analysis, you will report and present your findings alongside colleagues to relevant stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (Danish FSA), the regulatory supervisor of the Danske Bank Group. As you gain experience, you will also provide input to optimize the validation process.

About you:

  • Team-Oriented and Motivated: You are a team player committed to delivering high-quality results on time. You have the ability to drive assignments forward and ensure a high-quality outcome
  • Investigative and Analytical: You possess strong investigative skills, are proficient in data handling, and can convert statistical analysis insights into actionable findings
  • Educational Background: You hold a university degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, economics, engineering, or statistics
  • Model Validation Experience: You have experience in validating IRB models, a solid understanding of relevant regulations, and the capability to interpret these requirements
  • Professional Experience: You bring a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in model validation or model development, with proficiency in analytical tools such as Python and/or SQL
  • Data Quality Knowledge: You have a thorough understanding of data quality and the key sources of data
  • Language and Communication Skills: You possess upper-intermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written, along with solid communication skills

Monthly salary range applies only if you work in Lithuania from 3440 EUR to 5160 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
