Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team will focus on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. The Clinical Digital Assistant team is at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare through advanced conversational AI and clinical automation solutions. Our mission is to streamline and enhance healthcare processes, improve patient outcomes, and enable medical professionals to focus on what matters most – patient care. 

In pursuit of these goals, we are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development and scaling of low-latency Data Platform tooling for our conversational AI and clinical automation platforms.  In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, architecting and delivering sophisticated software and infrastructure solutions needed to build and deploy data and AI products for high impact healthcare solutions. Join our team of experienced full stack, distributed computing and data/ml platform engineers in shaping the future of healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and technical leadership to cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and healthcare experts in the design, development, and deployment of ML and AI based services.
  • Architectural Vision: Define and drive architectural vision and roadmap, ensuring scalability, extensibility, and maintainability.
  • System Design: Lead the design and implementation of complex software systems, considering factors such as performance, security, and reliability with focus on the nuance of healthcare systems.
  • Collaboration: Partner with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Innovation: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating new advancements into our products and driving innovation in healthcare technology.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and growth.
  • Code Quality: Ensure adherence to coding standards, perform code reviews, and implement best practices to maintain high-quality codebases.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges, make informed decisions, and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud development, architecture, and deployment.
  • Strong development experience in Java, Python, C++, or similar OO languages
  • Demonstrable experience enabling ML / AI based services through robust platform tooling, distributed computing architectures and event driven systems. 
  • Experience building and working in distributed computing architectures like Spark or Flink
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience driving feature design reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process.
  • Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies
  • Experience working in event-based or streaming architectures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
