As the Enterprise Data Platform Product Manager, you will lead the strategy, development, and delivery of Ford’s Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). You will play a critical role in enabling Ford's data-driven initiatives by providing a scalable, secure, and robust data platform that serves various business units and functions. This role requires a strong understanding of data platforms, product management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the platform meets the needs of the organization while aligning with Ford's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Develop and articulate the product vision for the Enterprise Data Platform, aligning it with Ford’s broader data and digital transformation goals.
  • Define and drive the product roadmap, ensuring it reflects the evolving needs of the business, technological advancements, and market trends.
  • Prioritize platform features and enhancements based on customer feedback, data-driven insights, and business impact.

2. Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across various business units (e.g., Engineering, Analytics, IT, Security, Compliance) to understand their data needs and translate them into platform features.
  • Manage relationships with senior leadership, providing regular updates on platform progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.

3. Platform Development & Delivery:

  • Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, data science, etc.) in the design, development, and deployment of the Enterprise Data Platform.
  • Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable, capable of handling diverse data types, large volumes, and complex workloads.
  • Oversee the implementation of key features such as data ingestion, metadata management, data cataloging, data governance, and data access controls.
  • Drive the integration of AI/ML capabilities into the platform to enhance data processing, analysis, and insights.

4. Cost Optimization & Efficiency:

  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies for the platform, including resource management, infrastructure utilization, and data storage solutions.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to manage the platform budget, ensuring cost efficiency while delivering high-value features.

5. User Experience & Adoption:

  • Design and implement user onboarding and training programs to increase platform adoption across the organization.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to continuously improve the platform’s usability, performance, and feature set.
  • Develop documentation, guides, and best practices to support users in effectively leveraging the platform for their data needs.

6. Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure the platform meets all regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly in areas such as data privacy, security, and governance.
  • Work closely with the security team to implement robust security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring.

7. Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in data platforms, cloud computing, and big data to drive innovation.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team, fostering innovation and experimentation to keep the platform at the forefront of industry standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably within data platforms, cloud services, or enterprise software.
  • Strong understanding of data architectures, big data technologies, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
