General Notes

A total of five vacancies are available. This position may be filled at a higher-level title, relative to experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. Relocation assistance may be available.

Purpose

The Controls and Instrumentation Engineer helps with development efforts related to semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes that will define the future roadmaps of semiconductor logic, memory, heterogenous integration, and chip cooling.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to one or more of controls, instrumentation, custom circuit design, and fabrication for novel semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

  • Assists in researching and procurement of various equipment sub-systems.  

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines.

  • Two years’ experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines.

  • Goal-oriented and ability to prioritize and multitask.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines.

  • Experience working in a research or start-up environment.

  • Prior experience in one or more of the following areas: nanofabrication, precision machine design, mechatronics, systems and controls, instrumentation, optical systems design.

Salary Range

$100,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed on-site in a scientific research environment, with dynamic work conditions and frequent interruptions.

  • Work outside standard office hours could be required on an occasional basis during peak periods and special events.
