Investment Data Management Associate Analyst

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsive team player who is able to multi-task and has excellent data input and analytical skills.  Our work is highly collaborative, fast paced, and involves close coordination and excellent communication with our clients and key business and technology partners across Fidelity.  This role is a data processing role and not in data science or data analytics. 

The Investment Data Management Associate Analyst will perform fast paced critical data entry functions including creating and maintaining securities in our Master Data Management system with thirty-minute turn-around times.  It also involves running daily data validation checks and processing exceptions in our Master Data Management system.  The associate will identify and resolve data client and business partner issues.  Being able to quickly process while maintaining quality and accuracy is critical to the success of this function.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance or related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in an Operations, Business Analysis, and/or Data Analyst role
  • Financial Services Industry experience working with reference data preferred
  • Experience working with Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, IDC, and industry ratings vendors preferred
  • Experience working with analysis/reporting tools such as SQL, R, and OBIEE preferred
  • Experience in operation processing of SWAPS, Term Loans, and Futures transactions
  • Able to interact with vendors, clients and end users of the data
  • Exhibited skills in problem identification and resolution
  • Strong analysis skills resulting in the ability to respond to customer inquiries with accuracy
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Solid oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and project management skills to navigate through high volume setting with tight deadlines 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff, management and other business partners
  • Data analytics, data mining, reporting, operations research and data manipulation experience preferred

The Global Data Services (GDS) team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is a global, investment data management organization that specializes in the sourcing, analysis, integration, management and distribution of security, index, and portfolio data. GDS provides these data services for reference, evaluative, performance and analytical data in support of global investment decision making organizations.  Data Management Operations (DMO), a division of GDS, specializes in managing, integrating and validating vendor and Fidelity-defined data associated with investment entities (securities, issues, brokers, funds, portfolios and index data).
