Data Scientist (f/m/x)

Your mission:

• As part of an open-minded and curious team, you will develop digital solutions for our global Business Units – from conceptualisation, to modelling, and finally to integrated implementations. 
• You will work in cross-functional international teams consisting of other colleagues of Mondi DX as well as domain experts from our respective business Units, paper mills and converting plants. 

Your profile: 

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual with a passion for data science. To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A BSc/MSc/PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of proven experience in building data science models and products within a business setting.
• Experience in manufacturing is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience executing machine learning projects with large, real-world datasets.
• The ability to translate complex manufacturing challenges into effective analytical solutions.
• Proficiency in Python; additional knowledge of R or other programming languages is a plus.
• Experience with version control and deploying machine/deep learning models in production.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders, including engineers, operators, and colleagues at all organizational levels.
• Solid understanding of basic statistical methods (e.g. statistical testing, linear regression) and modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical underpinnings.
• Skills and Interests in time series modeling, optimization methods, computer vision, or large language models are advantageous.
• Experience developing solutions in a cloud environment ( Azure / AWS ) is desirable.
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to 30%).
• Fluent in English; German or other languages would be desirable.

• We offer a compensation starting at € 55.000 gross/year on a full-time basis (38 hours/week), depending on your experience, skills and qualification.
