Job Description:

Once here you will-

• As Principal Data Engineer you will be responsible for building the data platform that supports data integrations: building data pipelines to share enterprise data, designing and building a data platform such as Enterprise Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store or Data Marts etc. with appropriate data access, data security, data privacy and data governance.
• Demonstrate deep technical knowledge and expertise in software development, data engineering frameworks and best practices.
• Use agile engineering practices and various data development technologies to develop creative and efficient data products rapidly.
• Work closely with the Data Architects, Solution Architects & Data Modelers to enhance the Data platform design, constantly identify a backlog of tech debts in line with identified upgrades and provide technical solutions & implement the same.
• Identify inefficiencies, optimize processes and data flows, and recommend improvements.
• Use operational skills to drive efficiency and speed, have expertise in building repeatable data engineering processes, use strong agile and project management skills to deliver data products.
• Manage deliverables of developers, perform design reviews and coordinate release management activities.
• Stay up to date with latest technologies and industry trends. Provide recommendations for technology and innovation.

What you will bring-

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related technical field and 12+ years of relevant experience in the job offered or a related occupation along with the following technical experience.
• Architect and design secure, robust, fault-tolerant and highly scalable Data Warehouse (EDW), Operational Data Stores (ODS), and Data Marts/ Data Product applications. Align and integrate well with architects, data analysts, data modelers and other stakeholders.
• Excellent data integration skills, solutions using any industry-leading ETL tools such as SAP Business Objects Data Services, Informatica Cloud Data Integration Services (IICS), IBM Data Stage and Python. Develop Logical and Physical Data Model using Relational or Dimensional Modeling practices. 
• Create performance-optimized DDLs for any row-based or columnar databases such as Oracle, Postgres, Netezza database per Physical Data Model Performance tuning of data pipelines and DB Objects to deliver optimal performance.
• Excellent data analysis skills using SQL and proficiency in at least one programming language such as python etc.. Responsible for estimating the effort for work activities and assisting peers for the successful execution of work activities. Identify, document and communicate technical risks, issues and alternative solutions discovered during project. Automate and streamline build, test and deployment of data pipelines.
• Develop and unit test data solutions, data integrations, and data services. Mentor and provide direction to data engineers and quality engineers, both on-site and offshore. Identify inefficiencies, optimize processes and data flows, and make recommendations for improvement. Support non-technical team members in understanding the technical implications of design decisions. Manage deliverables of junior developers, perform code reviews and aid in performing technical platform audits. Good understanding of Data Quality, Master Data Management processes. Experience working in Financial Industry is a plus. Additional experience of working in leading public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or cloud data warehouses (Snowflake) is a plus.
