Job Description:

Data Scientist II 

GDIT has an opportunity for a Data Scientist II to support a new and exciting federal program that consolidates enterprise-wide applications and platform services. This program will support the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Application Division transformation into the Application and Platform Service (APS) Line with agile based service delivery and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based service management practices. 

HOW A DATA SCIENTIST II WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: 

Curate and further technologies, practices and approaches related to data management and analytics for NASA 

Demonstrate the potential application of how data may be applied to meet critical mission needs 

Prototype and deliver technical solutions to meet near-term objects, such as enabling access and integration of highly distributed, heterogeneous data or supporting analysis and computation across highly distributed data environments and silos 

Increase the speed, volume and efficiency of data transfer and application between the various centers, programs, projects within the agency 

Attract and retain top talent in the fields of data science, data management and technology and create opportunities to engage non-data scientists in the identification, creation, analysis and visualization of data 

Collaborate with universities, public and private research centers and laboratories, large enterprises and small businesses 

Advise senior leadership and programmatic management on the impact of data technologies

Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science or equivalent 

Experience

The likely salary range for this position is $69,722 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
