The primary responsibility of the Global Distribution Business Intelligence Consultant is to develop advanced Business Intelligence, utilizing Tableau, Python, SQL, AWS suite of tools for reporting and analytics and provide a consistent delivery of data across all Distribution channels at American Century Investments. This role supports the business by executing on a variety of sales management projects, and owns Distribution reporting/analytics to provide senior management with a financial perspective on specific business plans and initiatives.

Major Responsibilities

• Gathers requirements from business users and incrementally develops advanced BI applications to enhance business decision making capabilities, primarily using Tableau and AWS.
• Leverages advanced data visualization techniques to provide consistent delivery of data. Seek opportunities to implement automation.
• Able to analyze existing databases, reports, and processes for opportunities to further automate or simplify utilizing BI tools.
• Develop new and ensure completion of ongoing monthly and quarterly reporting to inform senior leadership of the effectiveness of the business model and specific initiatives.
• Assist in preparation of the preliminary quarterly business review at the territory, division and channel level, which updates American Century’s Management Committee on key business metrics and initiatives.
• Complete ad hoc assignments and special projects to analyze flows, redemptions, AUM, and business trends resulting from specific sales initiatives and objectives.
• Work independently on more routine/less complex assignments and under the direction of a manager on more complex assignments.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Computer Science or Management Information Systems or combination of education and work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with information technology programs and services, with demonstrated expertise in BI Development and related technologies, specifically Tableau (tableau desktop, tableau prep), SQL, Python coding, and AWS Suite (glue, databrew, secrets manager, step functions, S3, Redshift, triggers, etc).
• Asset Management experience strongly preferred.
• AWS experience strongly preferred.
• Advanced SQL querying skills.
• Using visual ETL tools or coding to combine data from multiple industry sources.
• Salesforce experience preferred.
• Experience with Agile development methodology and concepts.
• Experience building and maintaining key business relationships.
• Experience gathering business requirements.
• Good communication skills and customer relationship skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Technical Knowledge of Data Warehousing Methodologies.
