Leidos’ Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking a motivated and talented Image Scientist to join our multidisciplinary, highly energized, and expert data science team. We are seeking an Image Scientist to work as an individual contributor on our mm-wave body scanner technologies. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of tomographic image reconstruction and expertise in approaches to system image quality assessment. These skills will be applied to improving system designs of current and future mm-wave body scanner technologies, and in developing reconstruction algorithms that improve image quality and enhance our detection capability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and implementation of real-time image reconstruction algorithms for tomographic millimeter wave imaging systems
  • Develop image quality assessment tools and approaches that drive next generation system designs and technologies
  • Implement technical solutions to image formation aligned with state-of-the art research in the millimeter wave community
  • Support data collection and algorithm development teams in executing effective data collections on mm-wave equipment
  • Analyze data, write technical reports, whitepapers, and support the IP filing process.

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field with 2+ years of experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required)
  • Very strong math and analytical skills
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on with mm-wave security equipment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field 
  • Experience implementing image processing and image quality techniques from published papers
  • Experience evaluating, interpreting, and optimizing image quality on an imaging device or equipment.
  • Experience with CUDA/GPU programming and optimization, preferably for an imaging application.
  • Intermediate knowledge of object oriented programming in C++ or Python
  • Experience using a scientific toolkit e.g. MATLAB
  • Experience working with SAR or RF Systems

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
