Principal Data Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists & in the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder.

The focus of this role is advancing techniques for AI agents that work alongside our customers helping them further optimize their supply chain operations.

As a key player in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain and retail domains.

What you will do:

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists

• Provide technical vision and prioritization for AI initiatives

• Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams on roadmap and requirements

• Design and implement AI solutions for supply chain optimization

• Make critical decisions on data architecture and model selection

• Integrate AI solutions with existing product platforms

• Advance SOTA techniques for AI agents and generative AI products for customers

• Conduct applied research in NLP, multi-modality, and reinforcement learning for supply chain

• Apply the latest research & cutting edge techniques to real world problems

• Identify and mitigate technical risks in AI implementations

• Present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Stay current with AI advancements, particularly in supply chain and retail domains

What we are looking for:

• Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

• 10+ years of industry experience in data science and machine learning

• Proven track record of leading complex AI projects and solving business problems

• Strong background in NLP, transformer, and LLM architectures

• Extensive expertise in Python

• Practical experience with LLMs, generative AI, and AI agent development

• Ability to translate business problems into AI/data science solutions

• Leadership experience in mentoring data scientists and ML engineers

• Passion for innovation and staying at the forefront of AI advancements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of supply chain management concepts (bonus)

• Track record of publications or patents in AI/ML (bonus)
