Senior Technical Assistant in the Faculty of Engineering (Ref.: 528826) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing (Innovation Wing) aims to enhance the practical skills of undergraduate students in AI, Robotics, and IoT technologies. To support students' learning, the Innovation Wing provides essential technical tools, including GPT API resources, GPU machines, AR/VR facilities, cloud resources, AI software, and robotic hardware. These resources provided will facilitate the innovation of AI, robotics, and IoT solutions; and the hands-on workshops organised will enhance the learning experience of undergraduate students within the Innovation Wing.

Applicants should have a recognised Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a STEM-related discipline. They should possess good communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, passion, and adaptability to teamwork. Applicants with project experience in intelligent robots, machine learning, language models, AI agents, computer vision, or story generation will have an advantage.

The appointee will assist in developing and supervising student activities in the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing, as well as create training materials and conduct workshops for our members. Furthermore, he/she will provide technical support to makerspace facilities in the Innovation Wing, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and electronic and digital equipment, etc. He/She will also contribute to out-of-classroom teaching and learning initiatives. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Innovation Wing as needed. He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends.
