Lead Engineer @ Kindroid

Kindroid makes virtual people that enrich real people's lives. Since launch, people have made millions of Kindroids - virtual people who have their own unique backstories, memories, appearances, and voices. We're growing explosively and are growing profitably. We've been featured on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and BusinessInsider among others, and are backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley. 

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to work on building our more of the platform. You’ll work to understand frontier research in AI and applying them to the platform, as well as building out the core frontend, backend, and infrastructure to support millions of users. You’ll work closely with everyone on the team to plan and execute growth and retention initiatives, and wear many hats. 

The ideal type of person we want to work with is someone who has a past track record of learning obsessively, being meticulously paranoid on product detail and craftsmanship, and having the tenacity to do anything it takes to get things done.

Must-Have:

Experience or education with computer science, AI, systems, preferably all of the above.

Bachelors (or more advanced degrees) in computer science or related.

Preferred:

Full-stack application dev experience, preferably in React, Nextjs, Node.

Experience in applied ML in traditional NLP/modern LLM settings, or applied ML for media (image, video, audio).

Knowledge and experience of open-source tools, datasets, and infrastructure for finetuning & serving LLMs, or for image/video generation.

Polished, completed past projects that show attention to detail in engineering.

The team is currently distributed but mostly are on Pacific time.
