The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Data Analyst to provide expert advice on software/technological/data designs, builds software/data solutions, provides statistical information and analysis to support evidence-based decision making and technical expertise for existing and new database systems and applications, data mapping and analytics services supporting performance and compliance monitoring and reporting and policy analysis on water utilities in regional NSW.
This role focuses on the continuous development and robust operation of a complex data collection portal and database for LWU performance data and ensure information products and analytical tools reflect the needs of customers, regulated entities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Key accountabilities
- Identify, design, establish and maintain existing and new database applications and platforms, predominantly Oracle APEX Platform, SQL and MS Access, and new business intelligence/analytical tools, working closely with the DCCEEW IT to leverage internal expertise and integrate technology systems and services.
- Design, develop and implement new processes and software applications for data collection, storage, analysis, delivery and visualization using engineering principles to support validity, efficiency and consistency of newly developed applications and data dashboards, including developing and maintaining bespoke software applications and data dashboards that support automation.
- Develop and manage validation and quality assurance processes to identify and address errors and ensure data collection and validation is robust and undertake post implementation benefits realisation reviews of systems projects and provide reports to executive and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the stakeholders to collect their business needs and develop solutions for achieving these benefits through development of data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Lead the delivery of water utility specific performance monitoring, benchmarking and other information and analytics products to ensure DCCEEW Water meets its performance monitoring and reporting requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research or relevant field and/or equivalent experience
