At Opower, a vital part of Oracle Utilities, we empower individuals to reduce their energy consumption through data-driven behavioral nudges. Our innovative products harness insights from utility data, saving over 37 terawatt hours to date. As a Program Design and Forecast Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting programs that utilities worldwide use to drive energy savings.

The Program Design and Forecast team lives at the heart of Opower. You will design the programs that utilities use to save energy. You’ll use forecasting models, our foundation of knowledge, and your own creativity and strategic thinking to design programs that maximize customer savings.

We focus on measurable impacts. 

You’ll create and measure some of the largest behavioral tests in history to show how our programs change customer behavior at scale. Our work requires a combination of curiosity, creativity, analytical rigor, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Experimentation: Develop experiments and models to measure the impact of Opower programs on energy usage and related outcomes.
  • Communication Mastery: Articulate Opower’s program designs, forecasting insights, and product benefits to diverse internal and external stakeholders, bridging technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including data science, regulatory, engineering, and account management—to enhance program design and forecasting capabilities.
  • Global Influence: Contribute to our mission of providing clean, affordable energy access worldwide through a workplace that champions diversity and inclusion.

About You:

  • Passion for Impact: You are driven by a commitment to combat climate change and advance behavioral science in the energy sector.
  • Analytical Acumen: Whether through academic or industry experience, you excel in modeling and using statistical tools to drive insights and decisions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel is a must, with additional skills in SQL and/or Python considered advantageous.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, sciences, engineering, business, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or higher is a plus.
  • Occasional Travel: You’re open to occasional (<10%) travel to client sites for presentations and collaboration.

US: Hiring Range: from $65,600 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
