What you’ll do

At its core, Canadian Tire Corporation is a data-driven organization that relies on analytical insights to drive key decisions. As a Senior Business Analyst, eCommerce Data Strategy, you will play a crucial role in supporting the evolution of eCommerce data management, governance, automation, and self-serve reporting. Your focus will be on enabling a continuous loop of data to insights to action, driving operational improvements, and enhancing the customer and store experience in relation to eCommerce.

  • Strategy and Analysis: Identify current state opportunities and industry trends to influence our strategy and program investments. Conduct data analysis to provide recommendations and findings for improving the customer and store staff experiences

  • Requirements Gathering: Understand and document analytics requirements by working closely with business partners to gather complex business needs. Facilitate solution design discussions to ensure project objectives are met

  • Reporting and Analytics: Design and build processes and controls to integrate new reporting and analytics capabilities sustainably into Canadian Tire's business. Support testing activities to validate both process and technical deliverables

  • Data Management: Organize and clean raw data to improve catalogue information quality. Ensure data integrity throughout various systems

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Organize and lead presentations with cross-functional stakeholders at different levels within the organization. Adhere to structured project management methodologies while contributing to the management of key eCommerce projects

  • Issue Resolution: Take the initiative in identifying and resolving issues that arise during project implementation

  • Project Management: Provide project management support, including process analysis/design for key projects, industry analysis, and strategy development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Supply Chain, Digital, and Store Operations

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL; experience with Python/PySpark is an asset

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio, PowerBI is preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant business, retail, or process experience, including previous project involvement

  • Strong understanding of processes in areas such as eCommerce, Forecasting, Fulfillment, Order Management

  • Project Management experience is an asset

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems

  • Strong written communication skills for effective business writing and presentation delivery

  • Customer-focused mindset while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholder groups

  • Proactive attitude with a commitment to achieving results through motivation and a sense of urgency

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and Visio is advantageous

  • Familiarity with Agile Project methodologies is a plus

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage complex approaches effectively

  • Effective communicator across different levels of the business
