Responsible for building the business intelligence system for the company, based on the internal and external data structure. Responsible for leading the design and support of enterprise-wide business intelligence applications and architecture. Works with enterprise-wide business and IT senior management to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Solves complex technical problems. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the user. Creates testing methodology and criteria. Designs and coordinates a curriculum for coaching and training customers in the use of business intelligence tools to enhance business decision-making capability. Develops standards, policies, and procedures for the form, structure, and attributes of the business intelligence tools and systems. Develops data/information quality metrics. Researches new technology and develops business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions.

Job Summary

We are looking for a data engineer who is both skilled and a great team player, with a strong emphasis on integrity and a positive work environment. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines to support our business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust data pipelines using SQL, ETL processes, and data engineering best practices.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions using Agile methodologies.
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.

​​Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Reports Development, or ETL Development.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience.
  • Expertise in ETL processes and data integration tools.
  • Experience working with Reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and think critically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a rapidly changing technological world.
  • Hands-on experience with DBT and Databricks is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (PowerBI), Fivetran, and Azure is a plus.

Additional Details

  • The position will primarily be remote; however, the ideal candidate should be willing to travel to the Madison Office as needed.
