We are considering applicants in – Leeds / Dublin
Style of work – Hybrid 2 days per week

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about data analytics to pioneer the discipline in a rapidly growing area of the business. Critical thinking and problem solving will be key for exploring the challenges & opportunities as we develop the team. You will work within our Global Trading Team, in Flutter Group, to help us deliver against our ambitious Sportsbook vision which is shared across 10+ brands in Flutter.

Your mission will be to uncover key insights from Flutter’s global data, enabling quality decision-making about the future of our platforms and risk products.

You will leverage your strong SQL skills and data storytelling abilities to extract valuable insights from our vast data sources and communicate these insights to various stakeholders, to inspire action and change. Your role will involve transforming complex data into compelling narratives and supporting data-driven decision-making across our product lines.

On 14th May 2024, it was announced that Flutter would be moving its primary listing from the UK to the US, and its global operational headquarters from Dublin to New York (effective 31st May 2024).

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Utilize your SQL skills to explore, analyse, and interpret large datasets related to sports betting, customer behaviour, and platform performance.

  • Collaboration: Build great relationships across teams, including Trading Leads, Product Managers, Product Owners, Delivery Leads, and Engineering Managers, to understand their data requirements and provide valuable insights in the Product Discovery phase or OKR progression tracking

  • Data Storytelling: Craft data-driven visualisations and narratives which provide clear and actionable insights for our teams, making complex data accessible and understandable to all.

  • Continuous Learning: Be enthusiastic about expanding your skillset, including learning new data platforms & tools, programming languages and techniques to enhance your data analysis capabilities.

  • Experimentation: Foster a culture of experimentation across teams, leading the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to optimize our product line.

  • Data Transformation and Quality: Together with the Data Engineers, transform multiple raw data sources into clean views and continuously maintain data integrity, identifying and rectifying issues as they arise.

What experience and skills would we usually look for?

  • Commercial experience as a data analyst, ideally in product analytics.

  • Experience using SQL to query large relational databases.

  • An ability to work independently and provide a personal resolution to projects.

  • A track record of excellence in subjects with a mathematical or statistical focus.

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of statistical programming software and techniques (e.g. Python, R, etc.).

  • Experience of extracting, analysing, and interpreting large and sometimes incomplete data sets.

  • Advanced communication skills including experience of delivering output that is clear and succinct despite the subject being complex to senior stakeholders.

  • Curious and questioning approach with a high attention to detail.

  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Interest in the sports betting industry is a distinct advantage.

  • Other desirable skills: Tableau, Looker, Power BI
