We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Siemens Gamesa. In this role, you will play a key part in elevating our data solutions from on-premises to version 2.0 in Microsoft Azure. How to contribute to our vision 

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the transition of our current on-premises solutions to the Azure cloud. You will work closely with a team of experts to implement and optimize one of the multiple parallel processing (MPP) solutions in Azure, such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, or similar.

Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the migration of our infrastructure from on-premises to Azure cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless integration with existing business processes.
  • Develop and maintain Data-Driven Project Modeling (DPM) for all company projects, supporting strategic decision-making, risk assessments, business cases, and financial reporting.
  • Process and analyze data across the company to model resource risk and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with a multinational team to translate business logic into application development.
  • Manage data warehousing, including the design, implementation, and optimization of data storage solutions.
  • Provide support and documentation to end users for the developed applications.
  • Oversee master data management to ensure data integrity and consistency across the organization

  

What you need to make a difference 

Besides a passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change, we are also looking for: 

  • Extensive experience as a Data Engineer with strong programming skills in the Microsoft ecosystem (T-SQL, C#, Python, databases, OLAP cubes) for handling large datasets.
  • Proven experience with Azure Platform.
  • Several years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with a holistic view of the project.
  • High level of personal integrity, self-motivation, and independence.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
