In line with our firm commitment to training and developing exceptional talent, this person will join our Oncology Data Science area to learn and grow through active collaboration with our team.  

Conditions:  

Duration: 1 year  

Hours per day: up to 8h/day  

Location: AstraZeneca Global Hub (Barcelona)  

Focus area:  

The aim of this internship is to provide training and exposure through practical experience on cutting-edge projects at the intersection of bioinformatics and immune-oncology research.  

The intern will gain experience through supporting a selection of defined projects, shadowing opportunities, and participating in relevant team meetings.   

 Specifically, projects will focus on providing experience in the following areas:  

  • Implementation of statistical methodologies on omics datasets to address biological questions related to oncology and immunotherapies.   

  • Extraction of meaningful biological insights for the findings in the context of drug development.  

  • In-depth analysis and synthesizing the results into detailed reports and presentations.   

  

Requirements   

  • A background in Biology, Bioinformatics or Biomedicine (Mathematics, Physics or computer science will be considered given some biology background). 

  • Basic capabilities in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics such as R/Python. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for leveraging computational methods to address biological challenges. 

  • Communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive and collaborative approach to research.
