Job Description Summary

The BCN GBPA Software Developer drives the software development lifecycle — including working across functional teams to transform requirements into features, managing developments and processes, and conducting software testing and maintenance.

Job Description

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work closely with senior developers to design, test, and deploy machine learning cloud-based Python applications.

  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code that meets project specifications.

  • Help identify, debug, and resolve technical challenges.

  • Contribute to team discussions by sharing ideas, providing feedback, and continuously learning from others.

  • Collaborate with Business, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Planning Analysts, and other stakeholders in regular meetings.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest Python developments and apply them to current projects.

  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation and project records.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written English.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Degree in Computer Science or other related Bachelor

  • 0-3 years of experience in Python development (internships or projects welcome).

  • Good understanding of Python fundamentals, including object-oriented programming.

  • Basic knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and how to interact with them using Python.

  • Exposure to version control tools like Git.

  • Enthusiasm for learning new tools, techniques, and technologies.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and take direction when needed.

  • Solid grasp of algorithms and data structures.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of Git and Docker.

  • Comfortable working with VSCode and devcontainers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of machine learning is an asset.

  • Familiarity with libraries like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn is advantageous.

  • A strong sense of responsibility, urgency, and initiative.

  • Self-driven with a strong work ethic, a passion for learning, and excellent problem-solving skills.
