Job Summary

We seek a bright and motivated Cloud Architect to manage our company's architecture and strengthen our position in delivering public cloud services for all Arch Organizations.  The Cloud Architect will also help driving the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) transformation journey, from designing automation frameworks to leading the implementation strategy, rollout plans & delivering hybrid cloud services. In addition, the candidate will work with various Arch Organizations across the globe to define the approach for sustaining the on-premises infrastructure stack, cloud migration opportunities, review the existing implementation, recommend strategies to improve resiliency, simplicity and optimize costs.

This position will work very closely with the VP/CTO of Corporate Infrastructure and the Global Corporate IT organization. Please note, this role may require up to 10% domestic or international travel

Job Responsibilities

  • Cloud Services Technology Custodian: Build a well-informed Public Cloud services strategy and manage the adaption process to deliver cloud-based services. Designing Arch’s Cloud services offerings ensuring data integrity and security across different platforms

  • Technology Selection and Evaluation: Research and recommend new Cloud technologies, platforms, and tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness

  • Cloud Services Architecture Design: Create and implement the overall structure and design of Public cloud services/systems to meet current and future business needs, ensuring scalability, performance, and security

  • Capacity Planning and Performance Optimization: Forecast future capacity needs, recommend opportunities to optimize performance across adopted cloud services

  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery Planning: Design and implement strategies to ensure cloud services/ systems remain available in the event of cloud service or software failures, natural disasters, or cyberattacks

  • Enterprise Standards Compliance: Establish processes to ensure adherence to Arch standards, controls, policies, and procedures working with various business units, Infosec organization, and stakeholders

  • Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, design, and configurations, and establish and enforce database standards and best practices

  • Cloud Migration and Integration: Evaluate, Plan and guide on cloud migration projects, transferring services between different cloud services or systems, and ensure integration between various applications

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Cloud Platforms: Deep expertise with major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, understanding their database services, networking, and security features

  • AI-Optimized Cloud Services: Expertise in deploying and managing AI/ML services on major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Google AI Platform). Ability to architect solutions leveraging managed AI services like pre-trained models, NLP APIs, and computer vision tools

  • AI/ML Frameworks and Tools: Working knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) to understand AI/ML requirements, design & optimize deployment of various cloud services

  • MLOps: Knowledge of MLOps principles and tools to streamline the ML model development and deployment process

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate the deployment and management of cloud database infrastructure. Knowledge of Deployment methodologies and hands-on experience with various CI/CD pipelines like Git Actions / Azure DevOps / Jenkins / Harness

  • Performance Optimization: Skill in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing AI/ML workloads and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency. Practical knowledge of implementing APM, monitoring, and logging  at scale

  • Experience working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business leaders

Required Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise infrastructure solutions with diverse solutions from multiple vendors on a large enterprise and global scale

  • 5+ years experience delivering active Cloud technologies and service hosted in Azure and AWS

  • 5+ years of solid experience and understanding of multi-tenant data center architecture, including cloud architectures in design, implementation, and operations such as AWS and Azure

  • 3+ years experience working on various Automation platforms like Terraform/Ansible/ARM Templates delivering Infrastructure as Code and automating management & operations

  • Ability to multi-task, meet project-specific deadlines, work in a team, and produce results independently

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field, preferred

    For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

    $175,000 - $230,500/year

    • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.  The above range may be modified in the future
