Research Assistant (Business Computer Science)

NBS is looking for a candidate who is task-oriented, attentive to detail, has excellent communication skills, flexibility in responding to fluid situations, and ability to work independently, to join them as a Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will be part of a dynamic team of researchers conducting research on multidisciplinary studies, including financial reporting quality, disclosure and transparency, organizational and personnel economics, and neuroeconomics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and managing data-collection

• Performing data cleaning and other quality checks

• Developing and applying machine-learning algorithms for the projects

• Using face recognition APIs to process images

• Performing literature review and writing up summary reports

• Conducting data analyses and tablulating results

• Performing other ad hoc administrative duties to support the research projects

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably with a background in both business and computer science

• Ability to parse data from websites

• Good statistical knowledge and data analytics skills

• Familiarity with major data analysis tools (e.g., Python, Stata, SAS, etc.)

• In-depth knowledge of data mining, AI, and machine learning algorithms

• Good ability in communicating data science models to general audiences using layman language

• Preferably having experience with face recognition APIs

• Excellent command of the English language, as well as strong communication skills, is essential to conduct research

• High degree of responsibility and maturity

• Team player with a strong ability to adapt to new job tasks and collaborate with other colleagues as necessary

• Preferably having strong interests in academic research
