Cotiviti is currently looking to add an industry leading Data & Insight Analyst who is focused on architecting and developing best-in-class and innovative analytics, reporting, and support our AI/ML Center of Excellences. This role will have responsibility for establishing and sustaining processes and practices that support Big Data, Analytics, and Reporting solutions and applications. The Data & Insight Analyst should have a passion for data, working with business people, creating solutions, and developing causal relationships that fuel a data-driven culture. This role will involve working independently and as part of a team and will focus on specific deadlines in an Agile development process as defined by the management team.
Responsibilities
- Architect and hands-on development of Analytics, Statistical Analysis, and Reporting solutions.
- Implementing and configuring reporting technologies like Tableau, SuperSet, and Viola.
- Proficient with SQL for databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Proficient with Python language and Spark framework.
- Architect, design, build and integrate solutions using Hadoop, OpenShift, and cloud vendors.
- Redesigning existing reports and information collection processes for enhanced utility and usability.
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the AI/ML Center of Excellence that’s tasked “making better decisions with data science” in Hadoop, Openshift, and cloud environments.
- Drive automation capabilities into Analytics, Statistical Analysis, and Reporting solutions.
- Drive development of causal relationships for business metrics and drivers.
- Establish credibility and strong working relationship with development teams to review design and code for adherence to established standards and best practices.
- Deliver using an Agile development process.
- Maintain our repository and other relevant documentation.
- Consulting skills strong enough to work with clients on their reporting needs.
- Understands claims data, how data is stored in analytical platforms, and how to use and apply claims data in the validation of payment accuracy concepts and other projects.
- Knowledge and ability to use Statistical methodology to solve business problems.
- Ability to understand, generate, and evaluate healthcare utilization, unit cost, and medical cost trends. This includes understanding levers that affect healthcare cost, such as contracting, networks, policies, benefit structures, and product design. Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on financial data.
- Ability to actively and skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and/or evaluate information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action.
- Ability to appropriately summarize and effectively communicate complex concepts & varied datasets to inform stakeholders, gain approval, or prompt action for multiple audiences ranging from the analyst to executive level using oral, written, and presentations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications
Big Data Analysis: Strong ability to manage and analyze data in a Big Data environment using a variety of scripts, potentially including but not limited to Scala/Spark and Python as well as Cloud based Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning capabilities.
Reasoning and Problem Solving: Ability to actively and skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and/or evaluate information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action.
Consulting: Demonstrated ability to make and gain acceptance of data-driven recommendations made to business owners. Strong ability to appropriately summarize and effectively communicate complex concepts & varied data sets to inform stakeholders, gain approval, or prompt actions; Applies to multiple audiences ranging from the analyst to executive level; Includes oral & written communication and multimedia presentation.
Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methodology to solve business problems; appropriately interprets meaning from results.
Business Knowledge: Good understanding of the tenets of health insurance, the managed care model, industry coding/policy standards, the claim adjudication process, and issues related to fraud waste and abuse. Ability to apply this knowledge to the development & evaluation of new initiatives and support leading the team strategy toward best practices.
Financial Analysis: Ability to understand, generate and evaluate healthcare utilization, unit cost and medical cost trends. This includes understanding levers that affect healthcare cost, such as contracting, networks, policies, benefit structures, and product design. Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on financial data.
Functional Programming: Ability to work with, understand and create object oriented/functional programming solutions using modern application frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications
- MS Degree in relevant discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or Health Sciences) or a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience (or recent Masters+ graduate) in advanced analytics
- 2+ years of experience (or recent Masters+ graduate) in working in Big Data environments, specifically Hadoop and cloud vendors
- 2+ years of experience (or recent Masters+ graduate) in business intelligence
- 2+ years of experience (or recent Masters+ graduate) with SQL, ability to write SQL queries to efficiently extract data from SQL Server/Oracle and Hive/Impala
- 2+ years of experience (or recent Masters+ graduate) using Scala, Python, or R programming languages
- 2+ years of experience (or recent Masters+ graduate) using distributed frameworks, such as Spark
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as a team
- Flexibility to work with global teams as well geographically dispersed US based teams
- Professional with ability to properly handle confidential information
- Be value-driven, understand that success is based on the impact of your work rather than its complexity or the level of effort.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work within a matrixed organization
- Proficiency in all required skills and competencies above.
Additional Beneficial Requirements:
- Knowledge or experience of DevOps lifecycle tools like GitHub/Gitlab/BitBucket, Jenkins, Jira.
- Experience or knowledge of the health insurance industry in the U.S.

Base compensation ranges from $72,000 to $96,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
